第二期“北大三院男科新进展沙龙”通知
尊敬的____教授:您好!
为了进一步提高男科学术发展水平、提高男科疾病的综合诊治水平,由中国性学会性学研究院、北京市健康教育协会、北京预防医学会主办,北京健康教育协会性生殖健康专委会、北京预防医学会男性生殖健康分会筹备组、北京大学第三医院男科中心/人类精子库承办的第二期“北大三院男科新进展沙龙”将于2019年11月4日在北京大学第三医院举行。
本次大会由中国性学会会长姜辉教授和中华医学会男科学分会副主任委员谷翊群教授共同担任主席,特别邀请美国 Gharagozloo 教授和法国 Drevet 教授做报告,从不同角度阐释氧化应激与男性不育的关系(报告内容见附页),并邀请北京市男科知名专家做专题讲座,同时邀请北京市男科众多专家参与。会议将采取沙龙的方式、讲者与听众互动的形式进行。

OXIDATIVE STRESS, MALE INFERTILITY & BEYOND.
Genetics Reproduction & Development laboratory (GReD), CNRS UMR6293–INSERM U1103–Universite? Clermont Auvergne (UCA),Clermont-Ferrand, France. Inherent to oxygen consumption, aerobic organisms and cells suffer from oxidative stress. Among the different types of cells composing mammalian tissues and organs, the male germ cell is in a unique situation when facing oxidative challenges. These may have unforeseen consequences that will be the subject of the data presented. In particular, it will be presented why sperm are so sensitive to oxidative attacks, what types of damage can be recorded and where, and finally, what are their consequences on sperm structures, functions and beyond. The focus will be on human sperm and the problems associated with oxidative damage to the sperm DNA. Causes and Consequences of Oxidative Stress in Male fertility: The Pros and Cons of Antioxidant Therapy.
Over the last decade or so, several large studies in Asia, Europe and America reveal a rapid decline in male fertility. Oxidative Stress (OS) is strongly suspected to be the prime driver of this decline, affecting semen parameters, sperm DNA integrity, consequently leading to lower pregnancy and live-birth rates, but most importantly potentially compromising the health of the future generations. Since OS is a manifestation of an insufficiency of cellular antioxidants, it stands to reason that clinicians would consider antioxidant therapy to ameliorate its deleterious effects. However, with over a 100 antioxidant ingredients and formulations in the market claiming fertility benefits, physicians should pay careful attention to the nature, doses and very importantly the composition of these formulations as the risk of over-supplementation becomes real. Chronic over-supplementation may lead to the opposite phenomenon “Reductive Stress” as well as other side-effects also potentially impairing fertility.
